What we do
No packages, no upsell. Tell the barber what you want, or ask what would suit you — you'll get a straight answer either way.
Clippers, shears, or both. Cut so it still sits right in week three, and finished with a hot towel at the neck.
First haircuts and squirmers both handled, without anybody losing patience.
The full sit-down. Cut, shaped beard, lined up, hot towel. Book it before a wedding or a headshot.
Shaped, lined and tidied. Beard oil if you want it, nothing you didn't ask for if you don't.
Steam, lather and a straight razor — the shave you can't give yourself standing at your own sink.
Clean, even and comfortable, finished with a cold towel and balm.
Yes, really — the chair is open to everyone, and always has been.
Quick, tidy, and nobody has to know you had it done.
Times are what to expect in the chair. Prices are posted in the shop — call 630 968 8009 and we'll tell you straight, or just walk in.
The shop
Main Street Barbershop has been on this block long enough that the regulars don't need to say what they want any more. Fathers bring sons. Sons bring their own sons. The chairs are old-fashioned on purpose.
It's an unpretentious room — that's the point. Come in, get a proper cut from someone who has done thousands of them, talk or don't, and get on with your day.
